Pre-Operative Contact Lens Instructions

• If you currently wear contact lenses, you will be asked to discontinue their wear prior to your pre-operative assessment.
• Contact lenses may change the shape of your cornea , so it is important to discontinue their wear, leaving sufficient time for your cornea s to return to their natural shape.
• More than one pre-operative examination may be required to assess stability of your vision.
• Subsequent to your assessment, you may return to contact lens wear until two days prior to your surgery, when you begin to use your pre-operative drops.
• You may wear a contact lens in the eye still awaiting surgery after the first eye has been completed.

Note: These are minimum recommended times for removal of contact lenses.  Actual time will depend upon any complications from contact lens wear.
